The editors welcome articles on a broad range of issues that are connected to the pursuit of musicological research within popular music. This includes the interdisciplinary approach to the question of musical analysis which impinges on disciplines such as sociology, cultural studies, critical theory, and philosophy. The impact of recording and production technologies on the mediation of popular music is of special relevance to this journal.
Authors should submit copies of their articles by electronic mail (preferably in a MS Word-compatible format) to either the editor-in-chief, assistant editor or internet editor, or mail directly to PMO at: pmo@cyberstudia.com
Popular Musicology Online is a peer refereed journal and articles are selected on the basis of support from at least two members from the international editorial panel. On acceptance of publications contributors should use the style of presentation that conforms to the journal's normal style.
Permission to reproduce any material, in addition to standard acknowledgements in the typescript, remain the sole responsibility of the contributor. It is a condition of acceptance that the publishers acquire automatic copyright of the typescript although permission will provided for its publication elsewhere providing acknowledgement is given to Popular Musicology Online.
Material considered for review includes scholarly editions of popular music studies that hold a musicological significance. Periodicals and music recordings are not usually reviewed.
